Channel Origins

On September 30th, 2020, Jack would upload a video where he tried to get the longest username on a silver play button - at the time, this was 50 characters. After a few failed attempts, he succeeded, and JacksEpicYoutubeChannelFullOfFunTimesAndFunHiRickX became the longest name ever printed.

However, in July 2021, a new glitch emerged on Youtube, where by using the inspect element to change the character limit, you could get theoretically unlimited characters in a channel username.

Jack, realising his record could soon be taken away from him, immediately got to work filming a video about his attempts. At first he tried to change the name of JacksEpicYoutubeChannelFullOfFunTimesAndFunHiRickX to be longer, but then discovered that the glitch did not work on already existing channels.

He then was forced to create a new channel, and, after some time, decided to call it JACKSEPICYOUTUBECHANNELFULLOFFUNTIMESANDFUNHIRICKXHASNOTHINGONMEIAMTHESUPERIORCHANNELIHAVEMORECHARACTERSTHANALLOFJACKSYOUTUBECHANNELSCOMBINEDHAHAHAHAIHAVEMORECHARACTERSTHANJACKSUCKSATLIFEJACKSUCKSATSTUFFJACKMASSEYWELSHJACKSUCKSATGEOGRAPHYJACKSUCKSATCLIPSSAMSMELLSOFAPRICOTSJACKSUCKSATPOPUPPIRATEETCETCIMAGINETHISONAPLAYBUTTONJESUSCHRISTBTWPLEASESUBSCRIBETHANKYOUVERYMUCHHIRICKXxXxXX. After posting a short on the channel, he had to wait for his fans to get it to 100K subscribers.

In the next video, when the channel had reached 100K subscribers, Jack tried to get the name printed on a play button. After talking to an employee in Youtube Live Chat, he managed to get to the creator awards page, but could not get past the fact that the awards can have no more than a 50-character name on them.

Jack then decided to make a name that was 50 characters long, but took up more space than JacksEpicYoutubeChannelFullOfFunTimesAndFunHiRickX, as this would make the new name longer. He settled on WMWMW_JEYCFOFTAFHRXHNOMMCTAOJYCCHAJSALSMWGCSP_WMWMW. The Ws and Ms are the longest characters in the English alphabet, which would make the name longer. The seemingly nonsense string of letters in the middle are actually the initials of some words in the original 382-character-long name.

However, Youtube would not allow Jack this username on a play button, taking issue with the underscores. Then, after Jack changed it to WMWMWMJEYCFOFTAFHRXHNOMMCTAOJYCCHAJSALSMWGCSPWMWMWM, they replied saying they also could not allow the numerous WMs at the start and end of the name. Finally, after Jack changed it to JEYCFOFTAFHRXHNOMMCTAOJYCCHAJSALSMWGCSPITOAPBJCBPSTYX, Youtube approved the name, and Jack finally received his play button.

When Jack unboxed the play button, he noticed that the font had to be smaller in order to fit the entire name on just one line. He also noted that the felt on the back on the play button had changed color to a slightly less deep black. However, he was shocked when he realised that the award had arrived without a Packaged By Rick card.

After measuring the length of the name, Jack confirmed that it was 23.5 inches long, thereby making him the record holder for the longest username on a Youtube play button.

The next upload was called "100,000 subscribers", and was made to celebrate the channel achieving this major milestone, which qualified it to receive a silver play button. This short currently has 600K views and was uploaded on July 31st, 2021.

The third upload, "I'm on trending", showed that his first upload (First Video!) had reached #14 on trending. This short currently has 750K views and was uploaded on August 1st, 2021
